Boosting Strength and Mindfulness for Neuropathy

It is important to keep my mental and physical strength up when trying to deal with Neuropathy.

I am fortunate that Cleethorpes Leisure Centre is on my doorstep. The possibilities there are incredible. If I want to work out in the Gym there are lots of Fitness instructors around to help me with my endeavours and the Health Suite is close by where I can use the Steam Room or Sauna.

There are also lots of Classes that I can take advantage of to improve my strenght and posture: Mindfulness to Music is one of my favourites.

Madyhamaka Buddhist Meditation Centre in Pocklington is a two hour train journey away. I feel at peace as soon as arrive at the Centre. The surrounding are incredible and the teaching is restorative.

It is fanatstic that I have such wonderful opportunities to look after my body and mind as I try to combat this challenging condition.

Mr Red Legs No More

For some time my legs have been red from the knee down. I am pleased to say that normality is returning and the patches of redness are receeding. The thoughts of celulitus or even worse seem to be behind me. Creams and ointments from the GP were ineffective and often open sores had to be treated by Helen a Nures who specialises in Skin Disorders at Beacon Medical Centre.

In the last month or so Aloe Vera topped with Vaseline has done the trick. I’m optimistic that soon my legs will be back to normal and ready for a sun tan as this hot weather continues.

Steady Progress

When I moved into teaching a colleague advised me to share ‘Steady Progress’ on a pupil’s report. That would be my comment on my battle with Neuropathy.

My legs are no longer swollen: they are back to my normal size. The tingling in my calves has almost gone and thanks to the Chiropractor my back is no longer painful. But her regime of ice packs and gentle exercise will continue.

I am staying away from the Gym at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre but I will snatch a few minutes in the Sauna this morning. The redness on my legs has almost gone and I will tread carefully to make sure that I do not overdo the Sauna treatment.

This is no time for complacency: my regime of complementary supplements has to continue. However, it appears that my nerves are no longer being starved of nutriuents and the plaque is being shifted and flushed down the toillet.

Thank goodness I never took those Nerve Blockers and suffered Brain Fog,

A Really Good Move

Seeing a Chiropractor yesterday paid dividends, It was over ten years since I had been in the company of a chiropractor. I had forgotten how brutal the treatment can seem. But it is question of ‘No Gain Without Pain’. Yesterday was no exception as I lay there and the stiffeness oin my back was addressed.

A couplke of hours later following the application of an ice pack I realised that returning to chiropractic treatment was the right option. Thew pain in my back had eased and even the dicomfort in my legs had eased. I’m back next Monday for another pumelling.

A Fresh Perspective

I have an appointment with a Chiropractor today.

The pain in my back is continuing to trouble me.

It will be interesting to see if she thinks the pain in my legs is connected to my Neuropathy and if there are remedies that may be avialble to ease or even eradicate this discomfort.

My Left Hand

It took half an hour to straighten the fingers on my left hand this morning. I tried the Golf Ball Trick initially but it didn’t work. However, after aboiut half an hour with my ORTHOBACK masssarger the job was done. What a relief as my fingers straightened out and normality returned.

I will give both hands Infra red treatment shortly with a gadget from KOVARIA. Neuropathy takes no prisoners and I have to be vigilant if I am to keep this dreadful condition at bay.

Coping With ‘Trigger Finger’

I often wake in the morning unable to open several of my fingers. This is commonly known as ‘Trigger Finger’. It is very painful and it is difficult to fully open my hand. If I cradle a golf ball in the palm of my hand my fingers gradually open and I’m ready to get on with the day, Alternatively I use a heat and vibration massager to bring my crooked hand back into working order as the pain shifts.
