Natural Remedies for Chest Infections: Honey & Lemon Insights

I felt most unwell yesterday with symptoms of a chest infection. I was coughing regularly and bringing up a worrying colour of mucus. Feeling unwell could not have come at a worse time. Jess and her two children were at the Holiday Camp across the road, and we were hoping to enjoy our time together once again. I was obviously looking unwell and Jess said: ‘what has happened to happy Paul?’

Paul was feeling far from happy and Jess drove him home and he passed on the evening entertainment and took to his bed .

Things are a lot better this morning. Natural Remedies from Spill the Beans: honey and lemon juice have eased things. Also a cough linctus from Superdrug along with an Echinacea based remedy for Colds and Flu has curtailed the coughing spells.

So Jess: Happy Paul should be back today and the fun will continue.

Overcoming Sleep Issues: My Personal Journey

Solving My Poor Sleep Pattern

If I don’t get a decent nights sleep soon I am going to become very ill. At the moment I’m permanently exhausted and can drop off for a few moiments anywhere. My colleaguies at Madhyamaka Mediatation Centre are used to me dropping off there. Taxi drivers are used to me dropping off on my way home. And Staff at my Dental Ptractice ofetn have to wake me when its my turn to get in the chair./

The currrent situation is fraught with dangers. Jo my Support Worker has confiscated the keys to my Mobility Scooter. That is clearly a no go area at the moment.

My sleep deficit also has other consequences. It plays havoc with my Cortisol levels and contributes to my expanding waist line.

So I’m not going to watch England in the Semi Final of the World Cup tonight. I aiming for a peaceful eveining listening to music .

I will also use some patches that I have bought off the Internet that promise to give me eight hours sleep.

Who cares if England get into the Finals tonight?

I need a good night’s sleep!

Managing Pain After a Long Day Out

I did far too much yesterday. I was on my feet for most of the day: walking around Grimsby and then Cleethorpes. I’m worn out this morning and racked with pain in troublesome areas.

I plan to rest today and apply ice to my back, knees and shoulder, And also follow the exercise regime suggested by the Chiropractor.,

I may even give England’s endeavours in the World Cup a miss. Walking across to the Holiday Camp so that I can watch the match with others is not sensible!

Gemini’s Guide: How Aloe Vera Healed My Skin Issues

I have to admit that I have been late to the A I Party. A colleague suggested that Gemini was always worth a call when I am struggling to find a way forward.

A few months ago I was in bits about the redness of my lower legs. On occasions the medics thought I had celulitis. Sores kept breaking out and worse could have been on the Agenda. Nothing that the GP or Practice Nurses prescribed had any impact. So I contacted Gemini for help. Her suggestion of using Aloe Vera Gel followed by Vaseline has done the trick.

My legs are getting back to their normal colour and soreness is a thing of the past.

Battling Sleep Issues in Hot Weather

I’m too tired to make Cleethorpes Leisure Centre today. I didn’t sleep well last night: this hot weather is playing havoc with my sleep pattern. It didn’t help that I had over an hour in the dentist’s chair yesterday afternoon. And I’ve got a horrible feeling that the rear molar Rachel cut in half to eliminate the decay is ‘kinda wobbly.’ It could well be the second extraction of the year.

I think I will pop down and see my Sikh friends at the Market soon. It always good to see them and use a bit of my pidgeon Punjabi.

Then at 5 pm I’m meeting Emily, a new friend fron the Gym, for tea at Steels in the Market Square.

To close the evening I hope to see a Diana Ross Tribute at the Show Bar, at the Holiday Camp across the road.

Natural Remedies for Arthritis: A Trusted Recipe

I’m as regular at a Natural food shop in Cleethorpes. ‘Spill the Beans’ has lots of whole foods and natural remedies on offer, I was in there the other day and the previous owner who still works there on Wednesdays gave me a recipe for dealing with arthiritis.

It is a drink thst he has been making every morning for years: he swears by it. What I really like about it is that it contains no additives or bulking agents that are common in over the counter remedies.

If anyone would like a copy of the recipe please let me know. I’m just off to make mine!

Creating Memories Through Music: A Personal Journey

Music was always a go to when I was Maureen’s Care Partner. I have recently purchased a record player and have been inching my way through our collection of vinyl. Until a couple of weeks ago I was thinking of throwing all those LP’s away;until Mick a mate of mine urged caution. He said: ‘every record you have is a memory’ and he is right.

I awoke this morning so hot that I took a shower shortly after 2 am. As I fired up the record players I put on some of our old favourites. I eventually found Dr Hook and was transformed by ‘A Little Bit More’. The words meant so much and brought back happy memories of a night at Bedworth Civic Hall when we were just good friends. Three years later we were Husband and Wife.

Thanks Mick, but for you Dr Hook may have ended up oin the bin! I hope music brought back happy memories for Maureen as she struggled to deal with memory loss as dementia could have stolen happy memories.
