    I realise with both my husband and mother they were diagnosed well done the track. This was mainly because I knew nothing about Alzheimer’s and just thought it was old age! I gradually did more and more for them – I was the enabler. I don’t think either of them had any real understanding of the disease when they were finally diagnosed.

    1. Maureen’s diagnosis should have been made earlier. Unfortunately, she was in denial and there were lots of other things going on in our lives that would have made diagnosisi difficult.
