It has taken me a while to understand that there are no Red Flags associated with the problems with my left hand. I can only use the thumb and my index finger on that hand hand. I’ve found this worrying and am now resisting forcing the fingers open, following advice from a number of quarters.
I’ve wasted a lot of time in the last few days with conversations with 111, a pharmacist, and staff in A&E at Grimsby Hospital. I now have to be patient and sort out an appointment with a doctor at my Practice on Monday, where hopefully I will get the injection that could well reduce the pain and help me to straighten out my fingers.
In the meantime I still have my right hand and, with adjustment, can complete most tasks.. I have been assessed with a hearing deficit and hearing aids will be with me before Christmas. But one of the things I do need to do is to learn patience and listen to what people are saying to me. I’ve not only wasted my time and the time of medical staff but I’ve also wasted around £50 in taxi fayres.
I hope this is a lesson for life and in fuiture I will listen carefully and act accordingly.
