I have had to come home a few days early from the Buddhist Center in Pocklington

The problems with my left hand have intensified. I took local advice from 111 and a local pharmacist and decided that the only solution was to come home.

This morning I will attempt to refer myself back to the Consultant who looked at my hand a few months ago. He made it clear that if things got worse I would need to come back to him. He said that the only options then would be an injection or surgery.

Trigger finger has plagued me for a number of months now. I’ve been waking up with my left hand in a claw-like state. My little finger to my middle finger have been bent over. Unfortunately, I have made the mistake of straightening them myself, rather than seeking immediate medical advice. I’ll be on the phone to the Orthopedic Department at Grimsby Hospital as soon as they’re open for business this morning.

It’s unfortunate that I’ve had to come home from the Buddhist Center early. I was looking forward to the Post-Festival Retreat that would have started this morning. My time there has been well spent. I have renewed contact with some old friends and got to know some new residents.

The period away from home and my Campaign to end the Abuse and Neglect of residents in Care Homes have been helpful. I have chatted to several people about My Campaign. Although some of them have encouraged me to accept that I’ve made a significant amount of progress, I have now decided that my bottom line is to attempt to get the owner of Sussex House Care Home into Court. He needs to answer for the Abuse and Neglect that has taken place at a Care Home that he owns

This will not necessarily be a straightforward process but I will be resilient. I will never forget what I saw in that dreadful place. I want to ensure that he has to answer for the Abuse and Neglect that I saw and endured. I am optimistic that the Local Authority has intervened to ensure that Susssex House is now fit purpose and that the Abuse and Neglect of Residents is prohibited.
