Social Care is on the verge of collapse as Roy Lilley outlines today:
‘What’s gone wrong?
Two things. The cash anticipated from government, on the face of it, is in line with their promise… pick it apart and it is worth, in ‘real-new-money’, about half the headline figure. Treasury legerdemain.
The second; in the 100 or so weeks since the Plan’s publication… the collapse of social care. Growth in demand from the frail elderly is in line with forecasts. Having them marooned in hospital, waiting to get home wasn’t.
No one predicted the speed with which social services would, effectively, go broke and implode, nor foresee the stream of care providers closing down’.
Dear Paul There are several things I admire about your blogs; one of them is the design elements and illustrations yu introduce. Ho9w did you learn these? all best Tom
I see the sky blues went down to a late defeat yesterday – can the Upson who sank you have been the ex-Hmmer? meanwhile we managed our first decent league result.

Thanks for your kind comments Tom. WordPress offer free Web tuition on how to Blog and lots of people have suggested improvements. The solution to the Sky Blues is to bring back my old school mate Bobby Gould. It was virtually his team that won the FA Cup in 1987: also the year when I was one of your students!!!!

I am not too familiar with all that is going on economically over there but it appears to be a global problem which has been allowed to grow without due thought being given to the future.
I admire your sentiments regarding your marriage vows, mine are exactly the same. There are 15 years between John and I. I have actually had people suggesting to me to ‘move on’. Marriage doesn’t end when dementia moves in!

I agree with you completely Di. Maureen is my wife and we love each other: that is why we married.
